The low-rise office building on Main Street West near James could easily pass for an insurance office.
Shiny windows on the outside reflect sunlight on the sidewalk. Inside, the modern quarters are well-lighted and spacious, with individual offices along the outside and common areas in the middle.
There’s a wall of pamphlets and notices by the reception at the front. Computers are available for searching the Internet. And there are meeting rooms to stretch out in.
Welcome to YMCA’s Newcomer Information Centre, one of the most tangible examples of immigrant outreach in the post-SISO era.
