HAMILTON, ON – April 11, 2014 – The City of Hamilton’s Environmental Summit takes place on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Mohawk College, 135 Fennell Avenue West. The public is welcome to attend. Tickets are $30 plus tax per person or $15 plus tax for students and event volunteers.
Attendees will participate in a series of sessions and workshops that will inform the City’s long-term community and strategic planning efforts with respect to environmental health and sustainability.
Environmental champions Dr. David Galbraith from the Royal Botanical Gardens, Hazel Breton from the Hamilton Conservation Authority, Justin Jones from the Share the Road Cycling Coalition and Yes We Cannon! campaign, Brian Morris from the City of Hamilton, Peter Ormond, local sustainability advocate, Sara Mayo from the Hamilton Social Planning and Research Council, Peter Topalovic from the City of Hamilton, and Dr. Sarah Wakefield, Health Studies Program and the Department of Geography at the University of Toronto will address some of the most pressing environmental issues facing Hamilton.
