The SPRC was established in 1961 and incorporated in 1966. The United Way of Burlington/Hamilton-Wentworth is the Council's primary funder. Additional funding is obtained from the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth, purchase-of-service agreements with agencies and other levels of government, membership fees and publication sales.
