Who speaks for the 90,000 Hamiltonians living below the poverty line?

Every other Saturday, I open the paper with great excitement and a bit of trepidation to see what the headline will be for the column I penned two days earlier. (OK, sometimes just one day earlier but remember, “The late Ms Pike tries not to be” column? Nice headline!)
I don’t write the headlines but whoever does is quite clever. “Three furry cat-alysts for change” and “How many churches does it take to marry a Catholic lesbian” are a couple of my favourites.
However, it’s a headline from last Wednesday’s paper that really captured my attention because I’ve been searching for one like this for a while now. “Green leader talks about poverty.”
