Q: Who are you?
A: My name is Greg Tedesco and I’m the new community developer for the Butler, Barnstown, Chappel East and West Neighbourhoods.
Q: What is a community developer?
A: A community developer works to support residents, neighbourhoods and neighbourhood planning teams, to build resident engagement and capacity. Basically, my role is to help connect people, ideas and help neighbourhoods identify assets and the challenges that impact them the most. I then work with the community to mobilize the assets and build on their strengths.
Q: Who do you work for?
A: I work for the Social Planning and Research Council of Hamilton (SPRC).
Q: Is there anything else we need to know about you?
A: Of Course! I moved to Hamilton in 2003 to go to McMaster, stayed here and love this city. I’ve worked with individuals and groups in many different communities across the lower city and am excited to now be working up on the mountain. I love playing and watching sports (Go Habs Go! Sorry…) and do a ton of walking and biking all around the city. There’s a lot more, so be sure to find me in the neighbourhood to connect…
Q: How can you get in contact with Greg?
A: To start, I’ll be at the office in the Kiwanis meeting room (595 Rymal Road East) on Tuesdays (3pm – 5pm) and Wednesdays (10am – 12:30pm). Drop in to say hello! If you want to set up a time outside of this to meet, grab a coffee and hear more about what I do, here’s how to get in contact:
