Hamilton politicians cleared the area to allow the city to continue operating the popular Snow Angels snow clearing program for seniors.
Members of the emergency and community services committee agreed Aug. 10 to spend another $100,000 and hire a temporary project manager to oversee the program and develop a youth skill building session for the 2016-18 seasons.
Mountain councillor Tom Jackson, who has supported the Snow Angels idea since it was created in 2005, said under the city’s guidance it had its most successful year in 2015-16.
He applauded the economic value of the program, with the city spending only about $400 per client.
